Cebu Pacific launches Cadet Pilot training program

Manila, October 24, 2017 -- The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) launched its Cadet Pilot training program aimed at addressing the airlines expansion requirements over the next five years. The program, to be conducted in partnership with Flight Training Adelaide (FTA), will create 240 professional pilots who will subsequently join the corps of pilots of Cebu Pacific.

The Cebu Pacific (CEB) Cadet Pilot Program is a 56-week program that recruits candidates from ab initio, and puts them on a 56-week integrated flying training; flight theory and education course to become licensed Commercial Pilots. After completion of the program, the cadet-pilots become First Officers at CEB, and join the corps of aviators at Cebu Pacific, flying domestic and international routes.


Cebu Pacific Air warns the public to take extra precautions and verify flight details and other ancillary services directly with the airline if bookings were made through Online Travel Agents (OTAs) such as Skiddoo and Traveloka.

Since these OTAs have neither authority from, nor permission to transact in behalf of Cebu Pacific, any flight bookings or reservations made by or through them might not be reflected in Cebu Pacific's booking reservation system. Moreover, requests for ancillary services such as meals, seat selection and baggage allowance might not also be reflected in the Cebu Pacific booking system since these OTAs are not synced to that of the airline.

Cebu Pacific invests in facilities for Persons with Reduced Mobility

04 October 2017 - The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), is set to roll-out Disabled Passenger Lifts (DPLs) in key airports nationwide. The DPLs which would allow Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRMs) an easier and more comfortable boarding experience on Cebu Pacific flights.

CEB is the first airline to invest in its own DPLs, in line with its thrust to improve passenger experience. The use of the DPL is free of charge for Cebu Pacific passengers with reduced mobility. Aside from PWDs, these include pregnant and elderly passengers who may have difficulty climbing stairs to board their flights.

Senior Citizen, PWD discount now available on all Cebu Pacific booking systems

September 22, 2017—The Philippines’ leading airline, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), has implemented the 20% discount, on top of the exemption from the 12% Value-Added Tax (VAT), on airfare for Senior Citizens and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) across all its booking systems. That means that bookings of Cebu Pacific flights by eligible Senior Citizens and PWDs, whether done via ticket office, online via the CEB website, or through the CEB mobile app, now reflect the applicable discounts on the base fare for flights within the Philippines.

 The 20% airfare discount and 12% VAT can be availed by all Filipino Senior Citizens and PWDs. For bookings made through the website or mobile app, the passengers need to input their details, including their date of birth or the number stated on their identification cards (Senior Citizen Card or PWD card). The total amount discounted can be found both on the ‘booking summary’ portion of the website, as well as the ‘fare breakdown’ or ‘payment details’ portion of the itinerary receipt.

Cebu Pacific outpaces competition in Manila-Sydney route

The Philippines’ leading airline, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) reports the highest passenger market share on flights between Manila and Sydney, outperforming key competitors servicing the route. Cebu Pacific is the only low-cost carrier with a direct connection between Manila and Sydney, Australia.

Based on data from Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics’ (BITRE), Cebu Pacific captured 44% passenger market share of the Manila-Sydney route during the first five months of 2017. The report also highlighted that Cebu Pacific carried a total of 14,039 passengers, up 33% year-on-year.
